Lions Hosting OL Wesley Johnson On A Visit

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Lions are bringing in free agent OL Wesley Johnson for a visit.

This is the first reported interest in him since the free agent market officially opened.

Johnson, 27, is a former fifth-round pick of the Steelers back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Pittsburgh before he was waived and later claimed by the Jets.

Last year, the Jets re-signed Johnson to a one-year, $2.746 million restricted contract and he’s currently testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his NFL career.

In 2017, Johnson appeared in 15 games for the Jets and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 35 center out of 36 qualifying players.
