According to the Detroit Free Press’ Dave Birkett, the Detroit Lions have signed free agent guard Leroy Harris.
Harris was drafted in the fourth round of the 2007 draft by the Tennessee Titans. He started on Tennessee’s line for most of the last three seasons.
The soon-to-be 29-year-old worked out for the Lions two weeks ago before signing a deal Monday. This signing adds a veteran presence to the interior of Detroit’s offensive line, but does little to solve the issues at the tackle spots.
This move likely signifies the move of former first round selection Riley Reiff to the starting left tackle spot, while a position battle for the right tackle position will be held between Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard.
