Lions “Known To Have Interest” In QB Dan Orlovsky

Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports that the Lions are “known to have interest” in free agent QB Dan Orlovsky.

According to Birkett, Orlovsky is believed to be at the top of the Lions’ available free agents list.

“We keep looking and we could certainly address it a number of different ways, and all options are open at this time,” Lions new HC Jim Caldwell said on Monday.

The Lions reportedly wanted to re-sign veteran QB Shaun Hill, but he ultimately departed for the Rams. Detroit also missed on Luke McCown as well, so there options are really limited at this point in time.

Orlovsky, 30, was a former fifth round pick of the Lions back in 2005. He started seven games for Detroit during his four years with the team, but he’s probably best known for running out of the end-zone for a safety.

He last played in a game during the 2012 season while he was with the Buccaneers.
