Lions Out Off The Bidding For Nnamdi?

It’s been speculated that the Detroit Lions were a possible option for star free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha but from Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press’s recent report, Asomugha is to costly for the Lions.

Detroit could be close to the rumored salary cap of $120 million. There’s still a chance that they could enter into the Asomugha sweepstakes but they would have to cut some players before they could even consider doing so.

Instead, Birkett mentions that the Lions may target one of Johnathan JosephAntonio Cromartie, or Ike Taylor if the “price is right.”

Cornerback is a huge need for the team. Much has been made about the teams strong defensive line but they will still have to address their secondary if they’re going to make a run in the playoffs.
