Lions Place LB Brandon Chubb On I.R. After Clearing Waivers

The Detroit Lions officially placed LB Brandon Chubb on injured reserve after passing through waivers unclaimed on Wednesday.

Chubb, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Rams as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to the team’s practice squad.

Los Angeles elected to cut Chubb loose a few weeks into the regular season and he later signed on to the Lions’ practice squad. Chubb was cut loose to make room for Logan Thomas but was re-signed to the practice squad just a couple days later.

The Lions signed Chubb to a future/reserve contract this past January before waiving him with an injury designation on Tuesday.

Chubb has yet to appear in an NFL game.
