Lions Re-Sign DE Kerry Hyder

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Lions have re-signed exclusive rights free agent DE Kerry Hyder on Saturday.

Hyder, 26, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech back in 2014. He spent a year in New York before signing a future/reserve contract with the Lions in January of 2015.

Hyder returned to the Lions on a one-year, exclusive rights contract this last April but missed the entire 2017 season with a torn Achilles.

In 2016, Hyder appeared in all 16 games and recorded 37 tackles, eight sacks, a fumble recovery and a pass defense.
