The Lions announced on Thursday they have signed RB Nick Brossette to the practice squad and released RB David Williams in a corresponding move.
The Lions updated practice squad now includes:
- DT John Atkins
- WR Tom Kennedy
- LB Steve Longa
- TE Isaac Nauta
- T Matt Nelson
- LB Anthony Pittman
- DE Jonathan Wynn
- LB Jason Cabinda
- WR Marvin Hall
- RB Nick Brossette
Williams, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Broncos back in 2018. He agreed to a four-year, $2,553,980 contract with the Broncos that included a $93,980 signing bonus.
However, the Broncos waived him coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad. The Jaguars added him to their active roster midseason and he finished out the year in Jacksonville.
Unfortunately, the Jaguars cut Williams loose shortly after this year’s draft. He re-signed briefly with Denver before being waived again during final cutdowns.
In 2018, Williams appeared in six games for the Jaguars and rushed for 36 yards on eight carries (4.5 YPC).
