The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that they’ve signed S A.J. Howard to their practice squad.

- WR Jonathan Duhart

- LB Christian Sam
- S A.J. Howard
Howard, 24, wound up signing on with the Cardinals last year as an undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State. He lasted just a few months in Arizona before he was waived with an injury settlement at the start of the season.
Howard had a brief stint with the Giants before eventually signing a futures contract with the Patriots this past January. Since then, he’s played for a few teams including the Ravens, Eagles and Browns.
During his college career at App. State, Howard recorded 220 tackles, a half sack, three interceptions, a fumble recovery, three forced fumbles, a defensive touchdown and 14 pass defenses over the course of four seasons and 52 games.
