Lions Sign TE Wes Saxton

The Detroit Lions announced Monday that theyโ€™ve signed TE Wes Saxton to a contract.

Saxton, 24, wound up going undrafted out of South Alabama back in 2015. He was on and off of the Jetsโ€™ practice squad during his rookie season before returning to the team on a futures contract in 2016.

After he was once again cut loose coming out of the preseason, Saxton signed on to the Redskinsโ€™ practice squad where he remained for the entire season. Washington re-signed him to a futures contract before waiving him after last yearโ€™s draft.

Saxton had a brief stint with the Bills, but sat out the entire 2017 season.

In 2015, Saxton appeared in one game for the Jets but did not record a statistic.
