Howard Balzer reports that the Lions hosted three players for tryouts on Thursday including S Tony Burnett, DB Forrest Hightower and LB Deon Lacey.
The Lions could be looking at these players as potential future/reserve signings for after the season.
Burnett, 26, wound up signing on with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in 2013. He was unfortunately cut loose during the final week of the preseason and hasn’t caught on with another team since then.
During his college career at USC, Burnett recorded 79 tackles, two tackles for a loss, an interception and a pass defense over the course of 46 games.
