Tye, 28, wound up signing on with the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Stony Brook back in 2015 and signed with their practice squad coming out of the preseason.
After two years with the Giants, he was waived at the start of the 2017 season and claimed off of waivers by the Jets. Tye eventually ended up on the Patriots’ practice squad before returning to New England on a futures contract in February of last year.
New England waived him with an injury a settlement and caught on with the Eagles practice squad in November of 2018, but was among their final roster cuts this preseason.
In 2017, Tye appeared in three games for the Jets and caught four passes for 38 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
