According to Aaron Wilson, the Lions worked out four defensive free agents on Wednesday including LB Jayrone Elliott.
The full list of players includes:
- DE Will Clarke
- DE Kendall Coleman
- LB Jayrone Elliott
- DE Anthony Lanier
Elliott, 28, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out Toledo back in 2014. He played out the final year of his three-year, $1,535,000 rookie contract with the Packers but did not receive a restricted offer from the team.
The Packers re-signed Elliott in 2017 before trading him to the Cowboys at the start of the regular season. Dallas elected to cut Elliott loose after a few weeks and he later had a brief stint with the Saints.
Elliott played for the San Antonio Commanders and led the now-defunct AAF in sacks, which earned him a shot with the Dolphins in April of last year. Miami waived Elliott after a few months and he eventually caught on with the Steelers prior to the 20219 season.
In 2019, Elliot appeared in five games for the Steelers and recorded four tackles and no sacks.
