The Detroit officially brought in free agent RBs Roc Thomas and Wes Hills for tryouts on Friday.
Thomas, 23, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Jacksonville State in 2018. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Vikings and managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason.
The Vikings waived Thomas in November, but re-signed him to the practice squad. Thomas returned to Minnesota on a futures contract this past January before being waived and later signed by the Jaguars.
Jacksonville waived Thomas from injured reserve with a settlement during the preseason.
In 2018, Thomas appeared in five games and rushed for 30 yards on eight carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 21 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
