Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the NFL has fined Steelers QB Mason Rudolph $50,000 for his role in the brawl with the Browns last week.
According to Rapoport, other players will be and have been fined, including those who left the bench area.
Browns DE Myles Garrett has been suspended indefinitely with DT Larry Ogunjobi receiving a one-game ban. Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey had his three-game suspension reduced to two games on appeal earlier in the week.
The league also fined both the Browns and Steelers franchises $250,000 each.
During Garrett’s appeal hearing, he alleged Rudolph called him a racial slur accusation. NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the NFL “found no such evidence” that a racial slur was directed at Garrett by Rudolph.
However, Garrett has stood by his claim, saying: “I know what I heard.”
Rudolph, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2018. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $3,921,866 contract and stands to make base salaries of $658,267 and $836,554 over the next two years of the deal.
In 2019, Rudolph has appeared in eight games for the Steelers and thrown for 1,551 yards while completing 62.3 percent of his passes to go along with 12 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
