Missouri DE/OLB Shane Ray was cited forย possession of marijuana Mondayย morning in Cooper County, Missouri, viaย Brandon Kiley.
- Dave Matter of the St. Louis Dispatch reports thatย Ray was cited for Class C misdemeanor possession andย for failure to drive in right lane.
- Ray was issued a warning for speeding, but was cooperative.
There were already concerns about Ray’s foot injury and how this could impact his draft stock, but this is hardly the type of news that convince teams to take a chance on him in round one if they’re already concerned.
A specialist suggested last week that Ray should allow hisย foot injury time to heal and believes he won’t need surgery.
Even with the concerns, there’s still a chance that someone will be willing to use a first-round pickย on him given his ability to get after the passer.
During his three years at Missouri, Ray recorded 120 tackles, 19 sacks, five forced fumbles and a defensive touchdown.
We have the Saintsย taking Rayย in our recently updated two-roundย NFL Mock Draft.
