Negotiations Slow Between Ravens And QB Joe Flacco

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco hopes that he can come to terms with the team on a new contract, and the feeling is mutual. But negotiations have been slow between the two parties thus far.

Talking to WNST Monday, Flacco said, “I want to get something done before the year… I hope that we both want to get something done before the beginning of the year because when the year comes and goes and I haven’t been re-signed, then that’s when things can start to get complicated”.

Flacco made his feelings clear regarding his future, stating “I want to play football for the Baltimore Ravens. There’s nothing else in the world I’d rather be doing”.

His agent Joe Linta regards his client to be a top-five quarterback, and believes he should be paid like one. Flacco is certainly up there in terms of success in his four seasons in the NFL; he has won more games in his first four seasons than any quarterback in NFL history, and he and the Ravens came agonizingly close to reaching the Superbowl last season.

As far as how big Flacco’s contract should be is concerned, the ball is in Baltimore’s court. Flacco has done a lot for the franchise in a short space of time, but his stats don’t look like those of a quarterback with a $100 million contract in hand.
