Giants Place CB Corey Webster On IR, Could Be Done In New York

The New York Giants have placed CB Corey Webster on the season-ending injured reserved.

  • The Giants have signed WR Julian Talley off the practice squad to take Websters spot on the active roster.

ESPN’s Dan Graziano mentions that this could be the end of Webster’s time with the Giants.

Webster, 31, has dealt with a number of issues this season including a hip, groin and ankle injuries, which has limited him to playing in just four games. In fact, Webster hasn’t played a single snap since Week 8, but for some reason the Giants elected to not place him on injured reserved until now.

Webster has one year remaining on his contract and set to make $1 million in 2014, but considering that it’s a voidable year, he looks like an obvious release candidate.
