Giants

  • One scout called S Jabrill Peppers: “[A] functional replacement for [S Landon Collins].  He’s not as good a player as Collins. He might be a better athlete.”
  • The Giants are hoping a return to DC James Bettcher‘s scheme rejuvenates DE Markus Golden, who’s “tape was average,” according to one coach who watched him said.
  • Another coach said S Antoine Bethea would bring “leadership” to the back end of the defense even if he only had one or two seasons left.
  • New Giants DT Olsen Pierre seemed “ready to take off” when he had 5.5 sacks in 2017 playing for Bettcher in Arizona.
  • Delaware DB Nasir Adderley had a private meeting with the Giants following his pro day.  (Matt Lombardo

  1. C’mon already with Sterling Shepard and his possible redundancy towards the Golden Tate signing. Being, both receivers are slot receivers. Sterling Shepard’s days are numbered with the GMEN. Another GMEN casualty is walking the Dave Gettleman plank. Shepard is entering the final year of his rookie contract inked in 2016. There is no 5th year option on 2nd round picks and Gettleman will not transition or franchise tag Shepard either. Shepard will walk at 2019 seasons end, just like Collins walked, for nothing but a 2021 compensatory pick.

As far as the comparison of Jabrill Peppers to Landon Collins goes. The “functional replacement” description of Peppers is just a LAME way of actually saying “the GMEN royally screwed up by not resigning Collins.”

The athleticism comparative of Peppers and Collins is a joke as well. Peppers also returns kicks and punts. I’m definitely sure Collins could easily handle those duties if they were presented to him.

Remember! The GMEN let Collins just walk, because Gettleman whimpered that Collins is not good in pass coverage and was not the ideal fit for Bettcher’s defense. Yet! Peppers major FLAW on defense is in pass coverage. So! To mask this major problem, Gettleman signs a dinosaur safety in Antoine Bethea. Then the GMEN FANS are being told by Gettleman, “to believe in the process.” What process?!

Look at Gettleman’s first offseason with the GMEN. The signings of Nate Solder, Patrick Omameh, Connor Barwin, Johnathan Stewart, William Gay, Curtis Riley and BW Webb were all BUSTS. And as far as the 2018 draft and Gettleman’s picks go. Taking Barkley was a cosmetic pick and allowed the GMEN to trade Beckham. Barkley had 2,000 plus yards from scrimmage and the GMEN run game was still ranked in the lower half of the league. Not promising at all considering the need pick was OL, DE, LB and QB. And the 2018 draft was loaded with running backs galore.

And look at the defensive picks for Gettleman in 2018. Gettleman took DL BJ Hill and RJ McIntosh to pair with Tomlinson and the DL still needs help. Gettleman then took LB Lorenzo Carter to pair with Martin and Vernon and the LB situation is still a mess. LBs BJ Goodson and Alec Ogletree are better suited for a 4-3 scheme. The GMEN need a Devin White and or Devin Bush in the middle. The secondary is a complete disaster to say the very least. Gettleman let’s Collins walk, an ALL-PRO and 3x PRO-BOWLER. Then tries to remedy the situation with Peppers and Bethea, both of these guys combined together are NOT half the caliber of player Collins is. At CB JackRabbit Jenkins should have been let go already, but releasing Jenkins now increases the dead cap hit for 2019. So! Jenkins will be let go at the end of 2019. The other CB spot is unknown, with 2018 Supplemental Draft pick Sam Beal. This pick better play out for Gettleman. Because! Gettleman used a much needed 2019 3rd rounder #37 on this guy. And Beal went right to surgery after Gettleman picked him.

Couple everything above with a Dave Gettleman picked HC in Putz Shurmur, this makes the PROCESS a lot less promising for the GMEN future.

  2. Trash! Zero sources named in your horrible reporting. I knew a guy who says something about garbage reporting like this. (Me)
