NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Falcons, Giants, Panthers

Cowboys

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones questioned HC Jason Garrett‘s decision to punt the ball late into the overtime period on fourth and one.

โ€œWeย were being outplayed. Itโ€™s time for risks at that particular time,โ€ Jones said, via the DallasCowboys.com.

Garrett explained that he felt it was a long fourth and one situation.

โ€œYeah, it was a long one,โ€ Garrett said. โ€œYou know, we had a 3rd-and-2 and we didnโ€™t make much on it and we just felt like at that point in the game, the way our defense was playing, the idea was to pin them down there.โ€

โ€œAre you kidding me,โ€ Blank responded, viaย Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

โ€œWe canโ€™t erase the last five games,โ€ Blank explained. โ€œWe have to make adjustments. Thatโ€™s all you can do. Start out next week and act like itโ€™s 0-0. Nobody wants to hear any excuses. Nobody wants to hear any stories. Thatโ€™s the nature of this business.โ€
