49ers RB Raheem Mostert is embracing his role as the leader of the position group even though San Francisco drafted two rookies in the draft this year — third-rounder Trey Sermon and sixth-rounder Elijah Mitchell.
“We all challenge each other, they’re gonna get the best out of me and I’m gonna try to get the best out of them,” Mostert said, via Alex Didion of NBC Sports Bay Area. “Especially with the younger guys, Trey and Elijah, those two guys, they’re really learning under me right now and they’re understanding the game and what it takes to be a pro and they’re handling it so well.”
Cardinals
The Cardinals entered the 2020 season as a popular sleeper pick to improve dramatically and make the playoffs. Halfway through the season, it looked like they were living up to that potential, with the high watermark being QB Kyler Murray‘s “Hail Murray” touchdown pass to beat the Bills. After that, though, Murray got hurt and he and the Cardinals ran out of gas to miss the playoffs.
“Emotionally (last season) was definitely frustrating, especially for a guy like me,” Murray said via the team website. “I want to win. Not going to the playoffs is weird for me. I know it’s the NFL and I haven’t been yet, but … I’ve always played past the regular season, in every sport. It’s different. I am definitely not looking to get used to that.
“It’s definitely upsetting, lot of anger and frustrating when you are losing those games you think you should win. At the same time, I’m a self-motivated guy. I take all that as motivation.”
Rams
Rams CB Jalen Ramsey took to Twitter to explain how he works out in the offseason.
“I don’t workout with any1 in the off-season, I focus in by myself. That’s how I lock in personally. It’s nothing against anyone else, it’s just my thing & what I found I like. If you see me working with anybody, it’s the team, my brother or pops wit RPT to get back to the basics,” Ramsey tweeted.
“I have used a yoga teacher, a pilates coach, a doctor ( I use for PT), & a masseuse. Any other “trainer” or “coach” cant say I work with them in the off-season, so don’t let them lie to ya. I’m just showing them love honestly when/if you see me doing work with em. Its love tho,” Ramsey continued.
