Bears

  • The Chicago Bears announced Friday that Deshea Townsend will now carry the title of secondary coach.
  • The Bears also promoted Sean Desai to safeties coach and Bill Shuey to defensive pass analyst/assistant linebackers coach.

Cowboys

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott said he expects Dallas to โ€œpay whatโ€™s deservedโ€ once it comes time for them to negotiate a long-term extension.

โ€œI think the team knows how to pay whatโ€™s deserved,โ€ Prescott told Jori Epstein of USA Today โ€œand pay those other people at the same time whatโ€™s deserved without being frugal.โ€

Prescott explained he doesn’t have the luxury of Tom Brady, who has been signing team-friendly contracts for several years now.

โ€œNobodyโ€™s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,โ€ Prescott told Jori Epstein of USA Today. โ€œWhen Tom Brady isnโ€™t the breadwinner in the home, then thatโ€™s a great problem to have.

โ€œSo, in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.โ€

  • Okafor previously had to give written notice to the Saints to void the agreement.
