NFC Notes: Cardinals, Packers, Vikings

Cardinals

  • According to Mike Freeman of B/R, word is circulating this offseason that Cardinals first-round QB Kyler Murray has impressed everyone in the Cardinals’ organization.
  • Freeman mentions that he’s heard from Cardinals players who are impressed with how “advanced” Murray is so far.
  • Per Freeman, Murray knows Kliff Kingsbury‘s offense well and has thrown the ball well during offseason workouts.

Packers

Former Packers QB Brett Favre said Saturday that he spoke with Aaron Rodgers about the offseason changes made in Green Bay.

Favre explained that he believes the Packers should allow Rodgers to “play his game and not disturb that very much.”

“Aaron will be fine,” Favre said, via JSOnline.com. “I think that the thing is he needs to remain the same. And I don’t have to give him any advice. You know, he’ll handle it well. The question is, how will they handle it with him. And obviously, that’s very important. I mean, there’s more to the team than Aaron but we all have to admit that when he’s playing and playing well, which generally when he’s playing he is playing well, you don’t want to change what’s working. There’s other factors that you have to work on.

“So I think you let him play his game and not disturb that very much. And it’s going to be interesting to see if that happens.

  • According to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman, people around the NFL believe Rodgers is due for a bounce-back season and his numbers will improve from the 4,452 yards, 25 touchdowns and two interceptions he had in 2018. One said it would be a shock if the Packers won fewer than 10 games.
