NFC Notes: Cardinals, Packers, Vikings

Cardinals

Packers

Packers WR Jordy Nelson mentioned during an appearance on A.J. Hawk’s podcast that he wants to play out his current contract and then see what happens.

“I got two more years left on this deal, it would be great to play those out and kind of see where we’re at,” Nelson said, via USA Today. “Me personally, how I feel, how the body feels. And then, obviously, it’s up to the organization what they would want to do.”

Nelson did, however, say that at most he has another four years left in him.

“I would say anywhere between two to four more years. I think four more – so this one and three more – would be my max,” Nelson said. “That would put me at 13 years. I’d be happy with that, obviously. At some point, I have to get my family back to Kansas.”

Vikings

Vikings RB Latavius Murray is finally healthy and apparently doing a good job in practice.

“I just needed to get healthy,” Murray said, via ESPN.com. “Now that I’m healthy and out there practicing with them, I’m starting to feel where I should be.”

Murray believes he can be an asset for the Vikings as a short-yardage running back and in pass protection.

“Obviously I can do short yardage, I can score in the red zone, goal-line situations, pass-protect,” Murray said. “For me, I’m always looking to improve my game and show the volume of my game. I want to catch the ball out of the backfield and maybe show my route-running ability. I just want to be involved, really, just do the most. That shows how valuable you can be as a player.”
