NFC Notes: Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks, Richard Sherman

Cardinals

Cardinals veteran LT D.J. Humphries is liking the way that things are coming together for his team, especially what he is seeing from veteran OT Kelvin Beachum and second-round WR Rondale Moore

โ€œGetting back together for minicamp and seeing the focus of everybody, seeing how dialed in everybody from young guys like (rookie receiver) Rondale Moore all the way up to the older guys like (veteran tackle) Kelvin Beachum and how everyone is just so dialed in and everyone is focused, itโ€™s one of those feelings you donโ€™t get every year,โ€ Humphries said, via CardsWire.com. โ€œI see so much ownership in every room. Itโ€™s awesome to me to see.โ€

Rams

  • The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue notes the effort Rams RB Cam Akers has put into improving his pass protection this offseason is an indicator the team hopes to rely on him as a three-down back.
  • However, she adds Rams RB Darrell Henderson should still play a complementary role if he can stay healthy.

Seahawks

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reports S Jamal Adams‘ contract situation could factor into a possible reunion with veteran CB Richard Sherman, who is hoping to sign with a competitive team prior to the start of the 2021 season.

“I’m told that this is not off the table, that Sherman is still open to returning to the Legion of Boom, or what remains of it,” Fowler said on SportsCenter. “He makes a home on the West Coast, still has a home in Seattle, most people think he’d like to still play on the West Coast and Seattle needs cornerback help. Nothing’s working right now, but maybe closer to training camp something could shake out. Seattle needs to figure out the [Jamal] Adams money allocation before they take resources elsewhere, because a guy like Sherman, he’s not going to take the minimum. This is a high-caliber player that would need a decent contract.”
