NFC Notes: Giants, Redskins, Saints

Giants

  • Dan Duggan mentions that the Giants could make a decision regarding their offensive coordinator by early next week.

Redskins

The Redskins re-signed LB Mason Foster to a two-year contract that can be worth up to $7 million a few days ago (NFLTR).

Foster explained that he feels like he owes it to the team to make his mark in Washington D.C.

“I feel like I owe it to them to finish on a good note and leave a mark here in D.C., and it meant a lot to me when they picked me up,” said Foster, via Redskins.com.

Foster’s 2017 season came to an end after he was placed on injured reserve. However, he has worked his way back and says the Redskins are the best situation for him.

“It was the same type of feeling like ‘Is it over? What do I do?’” Foster said. “I worked my way back and we have great trainers, Larry, Doug, Mark, Jimmy, everybody down there, Elliot, really helped me get back and made me feel confident in my arm and my strength and everything and I felt like, ‘Why would I leave here?’ I mean they helped me get to where I am today. I’ve been here for three years, I might as well ride it out. This is where I want to be, this is the best situation for me, and I want to do something big here before I leave.”

Saints

Saints RB Mark Ingram, who will be entering the final year of his contract, says he “can’t see myself being anywhere else” and he’s hoping to remain in New Orleans beyond the 2018 season.

“I’ve been a Saint for seven years and one year left on the deal,” Ingram said, via Larry Holder of the Times-Picayune. “We’ll see what happens. I love the Saints. I love my teammates. I love the city. I can’t see myself being anywhere else, but we’ll see. It’s a business at the end of the day. So who knows what will happen. But I hope it all works out.
