NFC Notes: Falcons, Lions, Panthers

Falcons

Lions

Lions GM Bob Quinn was asked why they didn’t try to sign RB Kareem Hunt during a season ticket member meeting Monday.

“We consider everybody that’s available,” Quinn said, per Michael Rothstein. “Obviously when that player was released towards the end of the season, every team in the league had the opportunity to claim him, number one, and actually would be on a cheaper contract than he signed today. So we evaluate every player on the field and off the field and in this case we talked about internally and it was just a player that we didn’t feel comfortable bringing to the Lions for numerous issues and I stand by that. That’s my word. I want good players and I want good people in this organization.”

Panthers

  • According to Ian Rapoport, Eric Reid agreed to a three-year extension worth $21,695,625 with the Panthers.
  • Reid receives a $7.5 million signing bonus and $10 million in total guarantees.
  • On top of that, Reid can make another $1.95 million in incentives, which brings the total value of the deal up to $23.65 million.
