NFC Notes: Lions, Packers, Vikings

Lions

  • Lions WR Marvin Jones was asked about his name coming up in trade rumors. Jones said he expects to be in Detroit come Wednesday: “There’s nothing for me to worry about or even ask. What they do is what they do.” (Dave Birkett)

Packers

  • CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora says the Packers briefly inquired with the Browns regarding TE David Njoku but they’re more interested in acquiring wide receiver help.

Vikings

  • ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the conditions for the fifth-round pick the Vikings traded to the Jaguars for DE Yannick Ngakoue are still in place, meaning if Ngakoue makes the Pro Bowl and wins the Super Bowl with the Ravens, Minnesota still has to send Jacksonville a third-round pick instead of a fifth.
  • Vikings HC Mike Zimmer was asked after the game whether their win at Green Bay changes the team’s plan for the Tuesday trade deadline: “I don’t believe so. … It just depends on what kind of offers we get. … It really has nothing to do with the wins at this point in time.” (Chad Graff)
  • Vikings CB Mark Fields II suffered a punctured lung in the third quarter when cleats of Packers WR Equanimeous St Brown hit him, according to Chris Tomasson. Fields did not fly home with the team and his dad, Mark Fields, tells Tomasson that he’ll be out 2-to-3 weeks.
