49ers

  • 49ers GM John Lynch said San Francisco is talking to a few teams about trading WR Marquise Goodwin: “We’ll see where that goes tomorrow.” Lynch said of getting back into the second or third round. “We’ve emptied the tank there a little.” (Nick Wagoner)

Lions

  • Tom Pelissero mentions that the Lions are a team to keep an eye on for Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts on Day 2 of the draft.
  • Pelissero mentions that Detroit privately met with Hurst last month and has the No. 35 overall picks and two third-round selections to work with tonight.
  • According to Albert Breer, the Lions could be a landing spot for one of the top running backs including D’Andre Swift and Jonathan Taylor

Vikings

  • Vikings GM Rick Spielman tells Josian Anderson: “We’re trying to be as aggressive as we can tonight because of the amount of capital we have. If there are players still there..in the upper echelon of the 2nd/3rd round..once we finalize our game plan that’s a definite possibility.” (Josina Anderson)
  • Anderson asked Spielman about potentially trading for Redskins LT Trent Williams. Spielman said “this morning I’ve spent most of my time assessing what’s left on the Draft board.” However, Spielman did say: “I would never say never.” (Josina Anderson)
  • Ben Goessling mentions that the Vikings could be busy on Friday, considering that they have 12 picks to work with in the draft.
  • Goessling mentions that Minnesota could swing a trade for Williams and possibly move up in round two.
  • Goessling’s sense is that these possibilities aren’t mutually exclusive.
  • Regarding Williams, Goessling says the Vikings would have to clear some cap room and suggests including LT Riley Reiff in the deal.
  • According to Tony Pauline, the Vikings have shown a lot of interest in Tulsa corner Reggie Robinson, who could be a day two pick.
