NFC West Notes: Andrew Whitworth, Rams, Seahawks

Andrew Whitworth

Rams LT Andrew Whitworth said after the Super Bowl that he’s undecided about returning for the 2019 season. 

“You know, I don’t know,” Whitworth said, via Pro Football Talk. “Some guys in the locker room were begging me to not say anything like that. So, you know, I have no idea. I really don’t. I still love playing. I still love the game. I still feel great. Still play at a high level. We’ll see. I’ll let the offseason play out and kinda see what’s best for the franchise, what’s best for me, and we’ll kind of see what happens.”

Rams

• Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer writes the Rams could open extension talks with QB Jared Goff this offseason. 
• Breer expects Rams OLB Dante Fowler Jr to depart in free agency. Breer says that the Rams will look to add some pass rush and defensive line help in this year’s draft.

Seahawks

• Albert Breer notes that the Seahawks actually kicked the tires on quarterback prospects last year including Josh Allen. 
• While the Seahawks and Russell Wilson haven’t discussed an extension up to this point, Breer doesn’t think it’s a big issue right now, but certainly a situation worth watching in the coming months.
