NFC West Notes: Cardinals, Rams, Seahawks

Cardinals

  • Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk notes that half of RB David Johnson‘s $10.2 million salary for the 2020 season was guaranteed at the time he signed his contract with the other half becoming fully guaranteed earlier this year.
  • Next March, $2.1 million of Johnson’s 2021 salary becomes fully guaranteed. This happens to be the final year of his contract.

Rams

  • According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, Rams WR Brandin Cooks‘ visit with a concussion specialist was “positive.” The team is hopeful Cooks’ second concussion won’t need a long recovery period, but the Rams will be cautious.

Seahawks

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters after Sunday’s game that he stands by kicker Jason Myers, despite his recent struggles.

“I want to say this: Our kicker, Jason Myers, he’s our kicker,” Carroll said, via Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. “It didn’t go right today for him, but it’s gonna. So we’re counting on him coming right back next week and kick the winners and do all the things we need him to do. He’s got magnificent talent and today got hard and didn’t work out right.

“But we won anyway and our guys won for him. They got his back.”

  • Per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Seahawks WR Josh Gordon‘s agent, David Canter, says nine teams requested workouts with Gordon in the event he cleared waivers.
  • However, Seattle was the only team to put in a claim on Gordon.
