NFL Notes: Antonio Brown, Carl Nassib, Golden Tate

Antonio Brown

  • According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, WR Antonio Brown‘s probation related to the battery case against him in Broward County, Florida, was terminated a year ahead of schedule.

Carl Nassib

Raiders owner Marc Davis supported DE Carl Nassib coming out as gay.

“These are personal decisions,” Davis said, via NFL.com. “It’s 2021 and he’s a Raider. If he’s happy, I’m happy. It takes courage. I thought we got to the point where this wasn’t (a story). It doesn’t change my opinion of him as a man or as a Raider.”

HC Jon Gruden also said he praised and supported Nassib for his decision.

โ€œI learned a long time ago what makes a man different is what makes him great,โ€ Gruden said, via ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez.

Golden Tate

After being released by the Giants earlier this offseason, veteran WR Golden Tate still has not found a new home. Tate’s production has tailed off each of the past three seasons, but the 32-year-old believes he can still play if given the opportunity. And he’d love for that opportunity to be with the Titans, Colts, Rams or anywhere in the NFC West.

“I’m like a fine wine: I just get better with age,” Tate said in an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio. “I haven’t had any major injuries. For the most part I’m on the field. I think I’ve been great in the locker room. Unfortunately, last year was kind of a COVID (issue) and everything going on just didn’t go my way as far as getting the ball. But I made the most of the opportunities that I did have. You look at when I did get the ball in my hands. I was making contested catches in the slot, down the field, wherever it may be. I’m looking forward to just getting opportunities. Because I have no doubt once I get opportunities, I’ll prove how good I am and how good I’ve been over the years.”
