NFL Notes: Arian Foster, Buccaneers, Chargers, & Dolphins

Arian Foster

Dr. Bert Mandelbaum predicts Texans RB Arian Foster (groin) will be “back to full form in two to three months.

“Dr. Meyers performs a Bassini-type hernia repair that he has performed on hundreds of professional athletes who have suffered a sports hernia,” said Mandelbaum, via the Houston Chronicle. “We published an article together in the ’90s regarding its effectiveness. Foster should be back to full form in two to three months depending on the details and spectrum of his injury.”

Buccaneers

  • The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced the signing of LB Sammuel Lamur on Thursday.

Chargers

Chargers S Eric Weddle mentioned that he’s hoping to go out on a high note during his final season in San Diego.

“I just want to go out on a high note, go out on top and lead my team,” Weddle said, via ESPN.com. “I want to continue to show what I’m all about. I’m a pro. I’m a professional and strive to be the best and try to have fun.

“It’s all in the past. I can’t control it. They will do what they want. That’s their plan, I have mine and I’ll make the most of it.”

Interestingly enough, Weddle added that a number of players currently on the Chargers’ roster may not be back if the do, in fact, relocate the team to Los Angeles.

There’s so much uncertainty within certain players and the organization,” Weddle said. “A lot of us may not be here if they do move. Hopefully, they don’t and they figure it out. But I’m not really focusing on that. I’m just trying to get the most out of every day and enjoy it as much as you can, and all of that stuff will take care of itself once the season is over, and move on from there.”

Dolphins

  • According to Armando Salguero, if QB Josh Freemanplays this preseason as he’s practiced, he will not be a Miami Dolphin.”
  • Salguero refers to Freeman as being “accuracy challenged.”
