NFL Notes: Black Monday, Todd Gurley, Dolphins, Raiders

Black Monday

Albert Breer of NFL.com writes that Black Monday could be slow this year in terms of coaches getting fired.

Breer spoke with a number of executives around the league that mentioned that the turnover is impacting player development across the NFL.

According to Breer, this issue paired with a lack of “slam-dunk” coaching candidates could prevent teams from moving fast in regards to cleaning house.

Breer mentions that Broncos OC Adam Gase and Seahawks DC Dan Quinn are really the only coordinator candidates that have been mentioned recent years.

Teams could look at college head coaching options, but Breer points out there isn’t a “big fish out there.”
