NFL Notes: Cowboys, Lions & Vikings

Cowboys

Cowboys WR Terrance Williams said he is not worried about future, even though heโ€™s in the final year of his rookie contract.

โ€œIโ€™m just ready to be quiet and work and let my play speak for it, because you can always talk what youโ€™re going to do and then if it doesnโ€™t go as planned, itโ€™s like a slap to your face,โ€ Williams said, via ESPN.com. โ€œSo Iโ€™m just ready to work and just show my play.โ€

Lions

Lions QB Matthew Stafford said he canโ€™t see WR Calvin Johnson coming out of retirement and returning to the team.

โ€œIn my mind, I donโ€™t see that happening,โ€ Stafford said, via DetroitLions.com. โ€œHe retired because he wanted to. Thatโ€™s it.โ€
  • Dave Birkett reports that Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for CB Darius Slay and ILB Stephen Tulloch, is at the Lionsโ€™ practice facility Thursday.
  • Slay is looking for a long-term extension and Tullochโ€™s status with the team has been in question for months now.
