NFL Notes: Drew Brees, Packers, Panthers, Steelers, & Texans

Drew Brees

  • Ian Rapoport reports that today is a big day for Saints QB Drew Brees and his chances of playing in Week 4’s game.
  • A source tells Rapoport that if Brees is not too sore and feels strong enough to throw today, it’s  possibly he’ll suit up on Sunday.

  • According to Tom Silverstein, Packers TE Andrew Quarless, who was placed on injured reserve with the designation to return, can serve his suspension while he’s on this list, if NFL decides to hand down punishment for offseason arrest.

  • Panthers MLB Luke Kuechly‘s status for this weekend’s game against the Buccaneers remains uncertain. (David Newton)
  • As of now, Kuechly is still in the league’s concussion protocol and did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. (David Newton)
  • Kuechly did meet with the independent physician earlier in the week, but it looks like he’ll miss another game this weekend. (David Newton)
