Jets
Jets RB Matt Forte said he will “definitely” be recovered from his hamstring injury in time for the team’s regular season opener.
โItโs taken longer than I expected just because weโre being super super cautious about it,โ Forte said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. โAt this point, thereโs really no reason to rush back out there. I got a lot of reps in the offseason. I know the offense. By watching in camp, I know it a lot more. It doesnโt take that long to get back into it. So Iโm looking forward to being on the practice field soon.โ
Forte said the Jets are being cautious with his return and that he would be playing already if it were up to him.
โThis is the most anxious Iโve had (to have) and the most patience Iโve had to have with an injury,โ Forte said. โBecause Iโve always looked forward to obviously getting out there as soon as possible, but at this point in time, itโs been a process throughout camp. Theyโve had to hold me back personally. If it was up to me, Iโd be going at it every day to try to be out there on my own termsโฆ. A lot of times they have to protect me from myself. So I (donโt want to) overwork and have a setback.โ
Ravens
Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he has not received any informationย on the timetable of recovery for WR Breshad Perriman‘s ACL injury.
โI wish I did [have an update],โ Harbaugh said, via the Ravens’ official site. โWe had talked about this being the time frame, right about now, mid-August, when he would be back. That was the date that I was given back in June.โ
Titans
- Titans HC Mike Mularkey said the team could make the move to trade Dorial Green-Beckham because of the depth they have at wide receiver. (John Glennon)
