Jets

Jets RB Matt Forte said he will “definitely” be recovered from his hamstring injury in time for the team’s regular season opener.

โ€œItโ€™s taken longer than I expected just because weโ€™re being super super cautious about it,โ€ Forte said, via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. โ€œAt this point, thereโ€™s really no reason to rush back out there. I got a lot of reps in the offseason. I know the offense. By watching in camp, I know it a lot more. It doesnโ€™t take that long to get back into it. So Iโ€™m looking forward to being on the practice field soon.โ€

Forte said the Jets are being cautious with his return and that he would be playing already if it were up to him.

โ€œThis is the most anxious Iโ€™ve had (to have) and the most patience Iโ€™ve had to have with an injury,โ€ Forte said. โ€œBecause Iโ€™ve always looked forward to obviously getting out there as soon as possible, but at this point in time, itโ€™s been a process throughout camp. Theyโ€™ve had to hold me back personally. If it was up to me, Iโ€™d be going at it every day to try to be out there on my own termsโ€ฆ. A lot of times they have to protect me from myself. So I (donโ€™t want to) overwork and have a setback.โ€

Ravens

Ravens HC John Harbaugh said he has not received any informationย on the timetable of recovery for WR Breshad Perriman‘s ACL injury.

โ€œI wish I did [have an update],โ€ Harbaugh said, via the Ravens’ official site. โ€œWe had talked about this being the time frame, right about now, mid-August, when he would be back. That was the date that I was given back in June.โ€
