Jadeveon Clowney
David Chao of the National Football Post writes that Texans second-year OLBย Jadeveon Clowney‘s microfracture kneeย procedure is “ominous” for his long-term career.
Caho admits that it’s a good sign for Clowney and the Texans that he’s expected to be available for the start of training camp.
Even so, concerns still remain about Clowney’s knee long-term.
“The knee heals with fibrocartilage that fills in the defect and is never as strong as the original hyaline cartilage,” Chao writes. “I hope I am wrong, but even if Clowney lives up to his number one overall pick promise this year, he would have to beat the odds to make it to a second contract.”
Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Timesย reported earlier in the day that the NFLย issued multiple proposal requests forย temporary venues located inย Southern California that could be used as a temporary home for NFL teams relocatingย to the Los Angeles market in 2016.
According to Albert Breer of NFL Media, theย Rose Bowl, Coliseum, Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium, and StubHub Center have all come up as potential options for the NFL to consider.
The NFL reportedly plans to control the selection
Lions
Cowboys rookie OL La’el Collins tell Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press that he strongly considered signing with the Lions after meeting with HC Jim Caldwell.
“I talked to coach Caldwell briefly, like, a day after the draft,” Collins said. “First of all, he just wanted me to know he was here for me and that if I needed anything, I could talk to him or if I needed to talk to him, things like that.
“And honestly, I went on a visit to Detroit and I had a great talk with coach Caldwell while I was there, I had a great meeting with them. We connected in a big way. It was nothing but love and respect for him. I think he’s a great coach; I think they’re going to be a great team.”
Collins said that joining the Cowboys ultimately came down to who was the best fit for him.
“I gave every team great consideration and just ended up having to go where it was really best for me, at the end of the day,” Collins said.
