NFL Notes: Jason Pierre-Paul, London, & Rams

Jason Pierre-Paul

The Florida hospital where Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul was getting medical attention after a recent fireworks accident announced Thursday that they have launched an โ€œaggressiveโ€ investigation into the release of his private medical records.

โ€œLate Wednesday, media reports surfaced purportedly showing a Jackson Memorial Hospital patientโ€™s protected health information, suggesting it was leaked by an employee,โ€ Migoya said, via WPTZ-TV. โ€œAn aggressive internal investigation looking into these allegations is underway. If these allegations prove to be true, I know the entire Jackson family will share my anguish.

โ€œIf we confirm Jackson employees or physicians violated a patientโ€™s legal right to privacy, they will be held accountable, up to and including possible termination.โ€

London

Alex Marvez of FOX Sports mentioned that there are still so many hurdles for the NFL to overcome in regards to placing a team in London, despite the growth in revenue from games played in the United Kingdom.

โ€œThe reason they keep doing this is because they keep making more and more money in the U.K.,โ€ Marvez said on the Joe Rose Show, via CBS Miami. โ€œThe interest hasnโ€™t waned in the sport. They keep selling out Wembley stadium and the television ratings remain strong.

โ€œAnd thatโ€™s really the key, they want to use this as a launching pad for the rest of Europe to try to continue to grow global interest in the game and look for new revenue streams because thereโ€™s only so much of the U.S. market that you can get to so I think this is the goal of the NFL but gosh thereโ€™s so many hurdles that they have to be able to overcome before they can ever put a team over there.โ€

Rams

  • According to Ed Werder, the Rams plan approach supplemental draft pick OT Isaiah Battle as though this is his final college year.
  • Battle will spend the offseason with the Rams and then, essentially, start his rookie season in 2016.
