NFL Notes: Kyler Murray, 2019 Schedule, Texans

 Kyler Murray

  • Ian Rapoport of NFL Media polled five GMs back in December about Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray and none of them had him as a first-round pick. However, Rapoport followed up on his poll and spoke with 10 GMs this time around and all of the said he’s a first-round pick with some saying he could go Top-10 overall.
  • According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Oakland A’s aren’t giving up on Murray playing baseball for them, even after he announced his intention to pursue an NFL career on Monday. Rosenthal mentions that the A’s are and have been willing to allow Murray to take part in the Combine and the draft and can offer him a major-league contract that could top any financial offer he receives from the NFL no matter where he’s selected.
  • Matt Miller of B/R takes a look at the best fits for Murray including the Cardinals, Bengals, Broncos, Jaguars, Dolphins, Patriots, Giants, Raiders, and Redskins.

2019 Schedule

  • John Ourand reports that the NFL is leaning towards having the Bears and Packers kick off the 2019 season at Soldier Field.
  • According to Ourand, two Thanksgiving games are likely to be Bears at Lions on Fox and Dolphins at Cowboys on CBS.

Texans

Texans free agent CB Kareem Jackson reiterated that he would like to be back in Houston next season.

“I mean, for me, I would definitely love to, obviously, come back here,” Jackson tells Sirius XM NFL Radio. “This is home for me, my family’s here, we’re established here. I’ve been here nine years. But at the end of the day, you understand the business, you understand things may not happen the way you want it to happen.

“For me, it’ll be all about making the best decision possible for me and my family. I think I put myself in a great situation to know that it’ll be a pretty good market for me out there to capitalize going into year 10. … Going into year 10, it’s rare to get to get this opportunity. And, obviously, you want to go to a team that will be a contender, that will add some great pieces. You don’t want to just go play and end up on a team and your guys go 2-14. Man, that is tough. But at the end of the day, I did what I was supposed to do that to be in a great situation and to be compensated the right way.”
