NFL Notes: Ray Rice, Bills, Colts, & Seahawks

Ray Rice

  • An NFL GM told ESPN’s Ed Werder regarding the possibility of a team signing RB Ray Rice:ย “The (game) tape isn’t good enough to get excited about. Not like Greg Hardy who can still change a game.

Bills

Bills RBย LeSean McCoy has missed the past two days of practice due to “toe soreness.

Heโ€™s just had a little toe โ€ฆ itโ€™s not turf toe or anything like that,” HCย Rex Ryan said of McCoy‘s injury, via ESPN.com. “But thatโ€™s kind of a soreness/swelling type thing. Itโ€™s not something thatโ€™s really going to hamper him in the near future.”

Ryan added that he’s hopefulย McCoy will be ready for theirย intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night.

“I think he will be [ready],” Ryan said. “But obviously that can change. But the main thing is not that he plays the scrimmage; the main thing is that heโ€™s ready to roll when there are live bullets. But it would be good to get him in there, for sure.

Colts

  • Drewย Rosenhaus, the agent for Colts WR T.Y. Hilton, left Indianapolis on Wednesdayย town after trying to negotiate a ling-term deal for his client.
  • According to Albert Breer, talks between the two parties “ongoing.”

Seahawks

Seahawks GM Johnย Schneider referred to S Kamย Chancellor as aย โ€œphenomenal football playerโ€ and said that there isn’t anyย animosity between the two parties, despite him holding out for a new deal.

โ€œAt the end of the day, you have to stick to your plan and your principle,โ€ Schneider said during an appearance on Sirius XM NFL Radio. โ€œThatโ€™s what has to guide you. Itโ€™s about the team. Itโ€™s the ultimate team sport. In order for us to be the consistent championship caliber team that weโ€™ve been preaching since we got here, we have to continue to conduct business the way we always have.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s not animosity here,โ€ Schneider said. โ€œIโ€™ve worked with his agent for a number of years. Weโ€™ve had good communication.โ€
