A few months ago a report suggested that the Miami Dolphins have DeAngelo Williams high on their list of offseason priorities but those rumors have died down now that we are almost a full month into the current lockout.
In an interview withย Kup and Omar Kelly on WQAM in Miami, DeAngelo Williams expressed interest in joining the Miami Dolphins.
Williams responded to a question about whether he’s heard the rumors regarding the Dolphins interest him by saying,ย โIโve heard rumors that I may be at the top their . . . board this year.โ
Omar Kelly followed withย โItโs a little more than rumors.โ
โThis is a place Iโd like to live,โ Williams said.ย โI hope Iโm at the top of their list and they come after me.โ
Williams did however maintain that he would like to remain in Carolina as well but this is the first that we’ve heard from him regarding changing teams. He also mentioned that he’s in great shape and see’s himself remaining productive.
โIโm running on premium and I have more than half a tank left,โ Williams said.
The Dolphins appear as though they’re prepared to move on without Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams which would leave them in need of a major upgrade to their backfield. The good new for Dolphins fans is that this is a buyers market as far as running backs are concerned so they should have a good shot at signing him once free agency is underway. Miami could also grab a running back in the upcoming draft, possibly Mark Ingram, and pair him with a free agent. Either way they have options at the position.
