NFL Rumors: Dolphins Drafting A QB At #15?

As the NFL Draft nears, there is a lot of momentum building behind the idea of the Miami Dolphins will be starting Chad Henne was the 2011 is finally underway but that doesn’t mean that the Dolphins will not draft a quarterback for the future.

Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports that the Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano both intend on taking a long look at the majority of quarterbacks that will be available in the upcoming draft and specifically mentions Cam Newton and Jake Locker. Kelly includes Nevada’s Colin Kaepernick, FSU’s Christian Ponder, Idaho’s Nathan Enderle, and FAU’s Jeff Van Camp as other quarterbacks that the Dolphins plan on working out before the draft.

Even if Miami grabs a quarterback at some point in the draft, the uncertain labor situation increases Henne’s chances of starting the 2011 season. There still remains a chance that they could look to the free agent market for a veteran quarterback but it looks like drafting is more likely.
