Wims claimed after the game that Gardner-Johnson spit on him, which ultimately led to him attacking Gardner-Johnson later on in the game. He filed an appeal soon after receiving the suspension.
Wims, 26, is a former seventh-round pick of the Bears out of Georgia back in 2018. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.5 million contract.
In 2020, Wims has appeared in eight games for the Bears and caught five passes for 35 yards receiving and one touchdown.
