The Green Bay Packers officially activated rookie LB Kamal Martin from injured reserve and promoted DL Billy Winn, G Ben Braden, S Henry Black and RB Dexter Williams to their active roster.
The Packers also signed LB James Burgess off of the Falcons’ practice squad.
Martin, 21, was a three-year starter at Minnesota and was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten before being selected by the Packers in the fifth round.
Martin signed a four-year deal worth $3,566,063 that includes a signing bonus of $271,063.
During his four-year career at Minnesota, Martin appeared in 45 games and recorded 177 tackles, three and a half sacks, four forced fumbles, and four interceptions.
Winn, 31, is a former sixth-round pick of the Browns back in 2012 out of Boise State. He signed a four-year rookie deal through the 2015 season.
At the start of 2015, Winn was traded by the Browns to the Colts for a conditional seventh-round pick. From there, he signed on with the Broncos the following year and returned to Denver in 2019 on a one-year deal.
The Broncos placed Winn on injured reserve last year with a triceps injury and opted to cut him loose this past March. The Packers added him to their practice squad last month and he’s been on and off of their active roster.
In 2020, Winn has appeared in two games for the Packers and recorded one tackle and a pass defense.
Nickerson, 26, is a former sixth-round pick by the Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft out of Tulane. He is entering the second year of his four-year, $2,637,480 rookie contract when the Jets traded him to the Seahawks for a conditional 2020 seventh-round draft pick coming out of the preseason.
Seattle waived Nickerson and he later signed on to the Jaguars’ practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December. The Packers signed him to their taxi squad before promoting him to the active roster a few weeks ago.
In 2019, Nickerson appeared in four games for the Jaguars and recorded five total tackles, and no interceptions.
