Packers Claim DT Damon Harrison Off Waivers From Seahawks

Albert Breer reports that the Packers have claimed DT Damon Harrison off of waivers from the Seahawks on Wednesday.

Green Bay had expressed interest in Harrison before he signed with the Seahawks.

Harrison requested his release from the Seahawks last week after they informed him that he was going to, once again, be a healthy inactive for Week 16.

Harrison, 31, originally signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of William Penn back in 2012. He spent four years with the Jets before departing in free agency for a five-year, $46.25 million contract with the Giants.

The Giants later traded Harrison to the Lions. He was entering the fourth year of his five-year, $46.25 million deal when he agreed to a one-year, $11 million extension last year.

Detroit released him in February and it took until last month for him to sign on to the Seahawks’ practice squad.

In 2020, Harrison has appeared in six games for the Seahawks and recorded nine total tackles and one forced fumble.
