The Green Bay Packers officially claimed TE Pharoah McKever off of waivers from the Jaguars on Monday.
McKever, 25, wound up signing on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of FIU back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months in Pittsburgh before he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Browns’ practice squad.
After Cleveland released him, McKever was signed by the Jaguars and returned to Jacksonville this past January on a futures contract. However, he was cut loose last week.
During his college career at N.C. State and FIU, McKever caught 28 passes for 383 yards receiving and four touchdowns over the course of 21 games.
