Packers Claimed CB Trevon Diggs

According to Ian Rapoport, former Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs will be joining the Packers for their last game of the regular season and playoff run.

Rapoport clarifies that the Packers are claiming Diggs off the waiver wire after he was cut yesterday by Dallas.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that any team claiming Diggs would be responsible for his remaining $472,222. He has no guarantees on his remaining contract past this year.

Relatively speaking, this is a cheap dice roll by Green Bay to try and add some talent in the secondary which has been exposed in recent weeks. We’ll see if Diggs can get up to speed quickly enough to contribute but he should be motivated after being dumped by the Cowboys.

Diggs, 26, was drafted in the second round out of Alabama by Dallas in 2020. He signed a four-year, $6.32 million rookie deal that included a $2.157 million signing bonus.

Diggs was set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2024 when he signed a five-year, $97 million contract extension, which included a $21.25 million signing bonus with Dallas.

Dallas let him go near the end of the 2025 season, however.

In 2025, Diggs has appeared in eight games for the Cowboys and recorded 25 tackles, one tackle for loss, and no interceptions or pass defenses.
