Packers Notes: Cullen Jenkins, Chris Canty, Johnny Jolly

Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that free agent DL Cullen Jenkins has six suitors, but none of them are the Packers.

There was some speculation following Jenkins’ release from the Eagles that the Packers could be interested given that Jerel Worthy is likely to miss time after suffering a torn ACL late last season.

Silverstein adds that free agent DL Chris Canty will visit with the Packers next Wednesday, but has “at least two other suitors.

Meanwhile, former Packers DL Johnny Jolly was reinstated by the NFL earlier this week. Silverstein mentions that Jolly will need to prove that he’s “in shape and serious about turning his life around” and will probably have to accept a minimum salary at this point.

Silverstein believes there’s at least a remote chance that the Packers could a few or possibly even all three of them this offseason.

Green Bay could some added depth and leadership on their defense, so we’ll have to see if they seriously pursue these guys in the next few weeks.
