Packers Placing S Chris Banjo On Injured Reserve

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Packers are placing S Chris Banjo on injured reserve Monday with a hamstring injury to create a roster spot.

  • Garafolo mentions that Banjo could sign elsewhere at some point in the next three or four weeks when he’s healthy.

The Packers continue to take hits to their secondary, as this comes just a few hours after the news that CB Damarious Randall is out a few weeks following groin surgery.

Banjo, 26, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of SMU back in 2013. He lasted just a few months with Jacksonville before he was cut and later signed by the Packers.

Banjo returned to the Packers on an exclusive rights deal back in April.

In 2016, Banjo has appeared in two games and recorded two tackles and no interceptions for the Packers.
