The Green Bay Packers have signed first-round S Darnell Savage Jr. to a four-year rookie contract, according to Adam Caplan.

Savage was the No. 21 overall pick by the Packers out of Maryland. Green Bay elected to trade up with the Seahawks to acquire him and exchanged their No. 30, No. 114 and No. 118 picks for the right to draft him.
According to OverTheCap.com, Savage receives a four-year, $12,517,692 rookie contract that includes $7,123,776 signing bonus.
Lance Zierlein compares Savage Jr to S Lamarcus Joyner. He was a three-year starter and initially played cornerback before transitioning to safety in 2016. Most draft analysts had him as a mid-round prospect in this year’s draft.
During his four-year college career at Maryland, Savage Jr recorded 182 tackles, one sack, eight interceptions, two defensive touchdowns, 13 pass defenses and a fumble recovery over the course of 40 games.
